Pre-Calculus

Pre-calculus, as the name implies, is a course that prepares students for Calculus.  This course is a hybrid between Algebra 2 and Trigonometry.  Students who are successful in this course, are prepared for Calculus; whether, Calculus done in high school or Calculus I at the college level.

Below is a brief list of the topics in Pre-calculus:

  1. Functions and their Graphs
  2. Polynomial and Rational Functions
  3. Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
  4. Analytic Geometry
  5. Trigonometric Functions
  1. Analytic Trigonometry
  2. Applications of Trig Functions
  3. Polar Coordinates; Vectors
  4. Sequences

As a rule, the prerequisite for this course is Algebra 2. In most cases, the natural progression of this course is Calculus.
