Calculus Course Description

Calculus is the Mathematics of Change. Wherever there is motion or growth, Calculus helps us understands the changes that occur. In addition, you can use Calculus to study geometric properties of curves, figure, solids etc. Understanding functions is extremely important for this course.

While doing this course, students will study the two main branches of Calculus, Differentiation, which is finding the rate of change of slopes and curves, and Integration, which is finding the area under a curve. Subsequently, Differentiation and Integration, has widespread use in Science, Engineering and Economics.

Special Note to Calculus Students

You may find some of the questions assigned to you very difficult.  It is easy when this happen to ask the teacher for help. Remember though, that Mathematics is intended to stretch the mind. If you are trying to get physically fit, you do not stop as soon things get hard.  It is the same with mental fitness.  Think logically, try harder. You can solve the difficult problems and get the feeling of satisfaction that comes with learning something new.
